Change often brings a new point of view into your life. New ideas, new perspectives, and new people will always come. For me it brought Ashley Cribb. Because of my new interest in healthy & wellness and non-toxic living, I am fortunate enough to connect with the loveliest boss mamas on instagram.
Welcome to the last week of January. I am finally shaking off the last of bit of fatigue and exhaustion from the holidays and ready to dive into Spring! I have to admit, it takes me a while to get back in the swing of things after the holidays. Those first few weeks of January hit me hard. Anyone else?
I wanted to share a few of my favorite ways to recharge and get my energy back this winter.
Here is what I am doing to reconnect with my health and wellness goals for 2017:
1. Having a glass of water with apple cider vinegar, lemon and chia seeds in the morning before my coffee. I really feel the difference in my energy level. Read about the benefits and get the recipe here.

2. Moving my body at least 30 minutes a day. Once I get out of a workout routine, it is SO hard for me to get back into one. Fortunately, I have Coach Ali on my side. She has me so pumped to live a happier, healthier life. I am so glad we connected (read more about the awesomeness of Ali here.)
Ali’s challenge group got me started on Beachbody on demand and there are hundreds of different workouts to chose from each day. I got hooked on Shaun T Insanity years ago, but the work out can be very time consuming. Thankfully he has T25 which is just 25 minutes of heart-pounding, sweat-inducing abuse. My goal is 21 straight workouts. Today is day 4..eek!

What do you do to move your body?
4. Back to plant-based whole food eating. When I get off track from planning meals, it is pizza 2 or 3 times per week and the sluggishness comes back. It can be so tempting to curl up on the couch with a gooey slice of pizza and a glass of red wine. Finally, I am back to meal planning and it feels so good. Sheet pan dinners are my JAM!
Santa brought me a new cookbook for Clean Bowls that has super tasty recipes. Bowls are so easy and I love to prep the components on a weekend.

Here are some of my favorite recipes that are quick, delicious and healthy:
5. My skin was so dry and parched from being up under all the heat and frankly, I was off from my usual cleansing regime. I gave myself permission to have a spa night complete with pajamas, hot tea and good book. I applied our Charcoal Purifying Mask. After that, I used the Rejuvenating Toner Pads and sealed in the moisture with the Rejuvenating Radiance Serum. My skin is glowing and baby soft again. No need for foundation on busy days. Just a quick swipe of concealer and lipgloss gets me out the door.
There are a few of my favorite products!
Would you like to try any of these?? Drop me a line, I would be happy to send you samples or drop off loaner kits of products, if you are local to the Atlanta area.

Happy happy joy joy Lovelies!! Three cheers for the holidays. I love this time of the year so much I could squeal! While I know December and the thought of shopping, cooking, errands, parties and galas may be stressful for some, I encourage you to take a few minutes to breathe. Take it all in. You don’t have to do everything.
You don’t have to give your kids a million plastic toys, you don’t have to get them the latest sneakers or phone, you don’t have to go to every recital or class party.
You don’t have to go to the white elephant party. You don’t have to go to the company holiday party.
You don’t have to entertain out of town relatives, you don’t have to have your house perfectly decorated like the pages of a magazine.
You don’t have to run out on the 23rd and get any last minute gifts. Nope. Not at all.
You don’t have to bake a million cookies. You. don’t.
The beauty and joy of the season will still be in abundance. If you want to take some time for self-care and reflection, you should do that. The holidays shouldn’t stress us out. I cringe thinking about how flustered everyone is and how we all run ourselves ragged.
Are we really enjoying the holidays? I’m one to talk, my son’s birthday is smack dab in the middle of it all. December 20th. I have a kiddo birthday party to plan and execute and it gets hectic. I want to enjoy it!
I have done the hard work for you and curated some of my favorite gift picks for everyone on your list from stylish and hardworking mamas to overworked teachers. I even threw in ideas for tweens and guys. There is something for everyone.
Sip on a hot toddy while you shop and then download this sheet of printable gift tags to wrap up the gifts in style.
Just download the pdf and print on cardstock. Tie with some pretty ribbon and you are done.
I’ve thought of everything for you because I love you so much!! I can’t thank you enough for your support of the blog this year and I hope to bring you more fresh content and tips in the coming years.
I can’t wait to see your gorgeous creations with the tags and gifts. Tag me #luckyandlovely and have a joy-filled holiday season.

Today I have a special treat and this interview is perfect timing for this season of the year. Read (when I am packing on the pounds from eating way too much mashed potatoes, and chili with cornbread drizzeled with honey). Fall is finally starting to feel like fall and the desire to wrap up and hibernate has been creeping in my bones for a few weeks now. When my favorite leggings started to feel a wee bit snug, I knew it was time to call on my personal fitness boss mama so she can whip my butt into shape going into the holidays. I want to introduce you to the efferverscent and joyful Ali Harper Wittorf. This girl has more happiness in her little pinky finger than most people will ever dream of. Her raw honesty gives me chills sometimes when she shares her struggles, triumphs, challenges and wins about everything from motherhood, fitness, running a business, mental clarity to just life in general. This gal is the real deal and I am so excited to share her story with you all on this post.
Tell us a little bit about your business.
I’m a lifestyle fitness coach and mentor, helping women choose wellness and nutrition programs that work with their busy schedules and lives. I lead online fitness accountability challenge groups for people who need support in reaching their health, weight loss and wellness goals. My goal is to help them have a transformation from the inside out, to become the strong, enabled woman they know they are. Another aspect of my job is that I mentor the women on my team by teaching them how to run their own coaching business, which I love!
To give you a little context about how this all came to be, after becoming a mom I went back to work as a full-time photographer when my son was just 4 months old. I traveled most weekends for my business, and being away from him was not only hard on me, it was hard our family as a whole, as my husband and I were never able to co-parent. During this time I was struggling with postpartum depression, dealing with pain and complications from an unplanned c-section, not able to lose the weight I had gained during pregnancy and simply having a difficult time navigating the world as an “older mom”. A friend of mine approached me about trying out an at-home workout program to help me on my journey, and it was at that moment my life and my family’s lives were forever changed. After completing the fitness program (called 21 Day Fix by Beachbody) and truly transforming myself, I took the plunge to become a coach so that I too, could empower women through nutrition and daily exercise.
Let’s face it….you have 9 million tasks to juggle between your business, work, home and being there for friends and family. I get it, gals. In this post, I want to talk about a subject that I am supremely guilty of not being amazing at: Customer Service. There, I said it. I don’t always give my clients an amazing experience. I’m super duper not proud of that fact, but I know that recognizing that I fall short in this area of my business, gives me the opportunity to make changes and do better.
A mentor and colleague gave me some really great advice for creating the ultimate customer experience. She said, “treat the customers you already have really well.”
Duh. It’s not rocket science. But why was I not doing it? I seriously love great customer service and I tend to remember those experiences fondly. We all love great customer service. Sometimes, that extra mile or help with a problem with an order could be the moment of someone’s day that creates a lasting impression on them and has a client singing your praises.
